The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) is inviting applications for the latest round of ICRETT Fellowships, for rapid international transfer of cancer research knowledge and clinical technology.
ICRETT fellowships promote knowledge exchange and aim to enhance skills in basic, clinical, behavioural and epidemiological cancer research, cancer control and prevention.
They allow clinical oncology, surgical techniques, diagnostic and therapeutic expertise to be acquired from the host institution and supervisor.
Since its inception in 1976, the ICRETT fellowships offered by UICC have contributed to the development of the professional capacity of over 2500 ICRETT Fellows from over 110 countries.
By facilitating appropriate person-to-person training in specific areas, travelling to a different country for one month and learning a new technique or skill that is relevant to the cancer research, the goal of the fellowship is return with improvements to clinical management and other cancer control activities being conducted in the Fellows’ home countries.
One month ICRETT awards are on average a $3,400US contribution towards travel and living costs.
Applicants who hold at least a MSc or MA are eligible, but not PhD students.
Appropriately qualified clinicians who are established in oncology practice and hold as a minimum an MD degree are also eligible.
Further details can be found through the website.

We are an independent charity and are not backed by a large company or society. We raise every penny ourselves to improve the standards of cancer care through education. You can help us continue our work to address inequalities in cancer care by making a donation.
Any donation, however small, contributes directly towards the costs of creating and sharing free oncology education.
Together we can get better outcomes for patients by tackling global inequalities in access to the results of cancer research.
Thank you for your support.
