The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) has revised its guidelines for evaluating manuscripts submitted to biomedical journals. The resulting document, “ICMJE Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals,” is available to read here http://www.icmje.org/. The “ICMJE Recommendations” are used by authors and journals to hold published biomedical research to a professional standard.
Notable revisions to the guidelines include new protocols for disclosing conflicts of interest and declaring group authorship. The new guidelines also encourage authors to submit manuscripts whose findings were inconclusive or lacking in statistical significance.
Most importantly, the ICMJE has added a fourth criterion for authorship, requiring all authors of scholarly manuscripts to take complete accountability for the published work. Read more about these important changes here http://www.icmje.org/new_recommendations.html.
ecancermedicalscience follows ICMJE guidelines.
The World Cancer Declaration recognises that to make major reductions in premature deaths, innovative education and training opportunities for healthcare workers in all disciplines of cancer control need to improve significantly.
ecancer plays a critical part in improving access to education for medical professionals.
