Supporting high-quality cancer research projects in Europe

Swiss Bridge is a private foundation associated with the Swiss Cancer League, the Swiss Cancer Research foundation and the International Union Against Cancer (UICC), and supports high-quality cancer research in Europe. This year, eligible for funding are projects focusing on «Health Services Research in Oncology» with real life setting approaches (out of scope: cohort studies, pure data generation and registration, clinical studies, basic research). The results of those projects have to be generally valid (excluded are country-specific observations).

Investigators from academic and cancer research institutions in Europe are invited to submit a note of intent for a new cancer research project on or before 31th March, 2013. The proposals will be screened by an international scientific committee. The principal investigators of a shortlist of between 6 and 8 projects will then be invited to submit (by email) a detailed research application by the July 26th, 2013. Upon peer review and recommendation from the scientific committee, up to 3 projects will receive funding amounting to a total support of 500,000 Swiss Francs. The donors have earmarked part of it for an onco-paediatric project.

The winners will be invited to a ceremony to be held the first half of October 2013.

The note of intent should be no longer than 6 pages (3,000 words) and should include:

- the title of the project
