As a committed supporter of making the results of scientific research available to all, ecancermedicalscience has now opened the bibliographic citation data in our journal article reference lists. We are doing this via the Open Citations Corpus, an Open Access resource, developed at the University of Oxford, that gathers bibliographic citations between scholarly articles and publishes these as open linked data in a number of formats including BibJSON and RDF.
Made possible by a small R&D grant from the JISC, the original Open Citations Corpus was first populated by reference lists from ~200,000 articles within the Open Access Subset of PubMed Central, containing about 6.4 million references. As part of the planned extension of the Open Citations Project, they are now planning to broaden their ingest, harvesting article reference lists on an on-going basis via CrossRef.
We are an independent charity and are not backed by a large company or society. We raise every penny ourselves to improve the standards of cancer care through education. You can help us continue our work to address inequalities in cancer care by making a donation.
Any donation, however small, contributes directly towards the costs of creating and sharing free oncology education.
Together we can get better outcomes for patients by tackling global inequalities in access to the results of cancer research.
Thank you for your support.
