P-medicine kicks off!

24 Feb 2011

The kick-of meeting for the “P-Medicine” European Project took place in Homburg, Germany on the 14th and 15th of February.  P-Medicine is an ambitious project bringing together international leaders in their fields to harness the latest technological developments to deliver personalised medicine.  P-medicine will use cutting edge data-sharing and integration practices to feed individual patient information into Virtual Physiological Human (VPH) models.  These models will be used alongside an Oncosimulator to deliver the latest personalised predictive treatment for cancer patients across Europe.

ecancer is helping to ensure that the benefits of personalised medicine are communicated effectively across the European cancer community.  P-medicine will help revolutionise current treatment practices transforming the experiences of patients and healthcare professionals alike. It is therefore vital that the benefits of P-medicine are communicated effectively across Europe to ensure that the tools developed deliver the maximum possible patient benefit.

ecancer will work together with the other P-medicine partners to develop education and training tools that will be hosted on www.ecancer.eu.   We will also be working alongside patients across Europe to develop Patient Empowerment Tools that will aid patients to make informed choices about their care.
