Web security issue affecting ecancer members

Web security issue affecting ecancer members

The ecancer web security team has identified that on 29th August the ecancer website was targeted by criminal hackers who stole a copy of some of our customer data. The stolen data included your name, email address and an encrypted copy of your password for your ecancer account. It did not include any payment details, phone numbers or home addresses as ecancer does not store this information.

As a result of this theft we strongly advise you to change your password for ecancer immediately and any other accounts that use the same password.

The passwords that were stolen were encrypted to a high standard that make it difficult to decode them, however it is still best practice to change passwords in these cases.

How to reset your password
You must login to your ecancer account to reset your password.

What to do if you have forgotten your password
If you have forgotten your ecancer password you can reset it using on the website.

We take our responsibility to keep your data safe very seriously and ecancer is responding to this issue by reviewing all our online security measures.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you and do not hesitate to email karen@ecancer.org if you have any further questions.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Your sincerely,

Karen Watts
