Dr Zhaohui Gu - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, USA

Dr Zhaohui Gu speaks to ecancer at ASH 2018 about a study looking at the characterisation of novel subtypes in B progenitor acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (B-ALL).

He explains that B progenitor acute lymphoblastic leukaemia is a very heterogenous disease and this study aimed to identify the novel subtypes.

Dr Gu reports the success of using transcriptome sequencing to identify B-ALL subtypes and their driver lesions, with 23 distinct subtypes established through a revised B-ALL classification system.
