About

The institute opened in 1960 and since 1994 it has been the only Ukrainian member of the OECI.

The four key research lines at the institute are:

• the study of cellular and molecular peculiarities of oncogenesis aimed on elaboration of methods of early diagnosis and new strategy of cancer therapy
• the study of mechanisms of antitumor resistance and development of  ways of renewal of defense systems of the organism
• the study of the mechanisms of action of the ionizing and non-ionizing irradiation and elaboration of the methods of correction of its effects at different levels of organization of the living systems
• the study of the mechanisms of adsorptive detoxification aimed on the creation of the 'artificial' organs
