Giulia Veronesi is a member of the Robotic Thoracic Unit at Humanitas Research Hospital, having previously been Director of the Lung Cancer Early Detection Unit at the Department of Thoracic Surgery at the IEO. She is a fellow of the European Board of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons and member of the two European Societies of Thoracic Surgery (ESTS and EACTS), including the Committee of Robotic Cardiothoracic Surgery at the EACTS. She is Principal Investigator of a NCIsupported chemoprevention trial with inhalated Budesonide and leads one of the largest lung cancer screening research trials in Europe with low dose CT scan. She is responsible for the programme of Thoracic Robotic Surgery at the IEO and is a founding member of the CRSA (Clinical Robotic Surgical Association). Her scientific activity includes more than 85 publications in international journals.
