Dr Usha Rani Poli

Dr Usha Rani Poli, MBBS, DNB(OBG), DGO is a consultant Gynaecology Oncologist at the

Public Health Foundation of India / Indian Institute of Public Health, Hyderabad, India. She was formerly Associate Professor of Gynaecology Oncologist at MNJ Institute of Oncology & Regional cancer Center, Hyderabad, India.

Dr Usha Poli is a Principal Investigator and has conducted many research studies over the past 2 decades on cervical cancer screening, community-based VIA screening, HPV testing including self -sampling in collaboration with IARC and PATH etc.

She is currently working on ‘Extended follow-up of the vaccinated and the unvaccinated cohorts in the IARC India HPV vaccine trial’ to evaluate the long-term efficacy of a single dose of quadrivalent HPV vaccine.  Dr Usha Poli has been a Master trainer for the WHO/IARC training courses on colposcopy and cervical screening for developing countries since 2006.

She supervises and monitors the ongoing VIA based Screen and Treat cervical cancer screening programs in a few districts of Telangana state, India and has published 30 original peer reviewed research articles and written chapters in 8 textbooks.

She was the recipient of the ASCO – International Innovation Grant 2021 for “Artificial Intelligence in Visual Cervical screening” and was a Consensus Expert Panel member for ASCO Resource stratified guidelines on cervical cancer screening  in 2022.
