Dr Fidel Rubagumya

Dr. Rubagumya is a consultant oncologist and director of research at Rwanda Military Hospital. He is a senior lecturer at the University of Rwanda and an adjunct assistant professor of oncology at Queen’s University, Canada. He studied medicine at the University of Rwanda, completed a clinical oncology residency at Muhimbili University in Tanzania, and obtained a Master of Public Health degree and medical oncology clinical and research fellowship from Queen's University.

Dr. Rubagumya’s  research interests are in health services research exploring the intersection of access to quality cancer care, health policy and financial toxicity in cancer care in low- and middle-income countries while his clinical interests are in head and neck cancers, gynecological, and gastro-intestinal cancers.

Dr. Rubagumya is a recipient of many prestigious awards from different cancer organizations like ACS, ASCO, UICC, and AORTIC, amongst others. Dr. Rubagumya has authored and co-authored different publications in major cancer journals.
