Dr Sandeep Nayak speaks to ecancer about IORT at the Fortis Hospital Bangalore in India. He says that currently at his institute they offer IORT to selected cases of breast cancer who have good-risk cancer.
Currently, IORT is being used for breast cancer primarily at the Fortis Hospital in Bangalore, India, but also the neurosurgery department avails IORT for certain cases as well.
Dr Nayak explains how the multidisciplinary team at his institute collaborate for optimum patient care and treatment.
He concludes by highlighting the importance of IORT and newer technologies and treatment methods in treating cancer which can prevent patients from tolerating long painful treatments.
