Dr Danuta Lichosik

European Institute of Oncology, Milan, Italy

Danuta Lichosik graduated from the High Medical School of Nursing in Warsaw, Poland, in 1968 and specialized as an Operating Theatre Nurse the following year. She graduated in Psychology and Pedagogy at the University of Warsaw, Poland in 1975. She has worked as an Operating Theatre Nurse at the Institute of Haematology and Transfusiology in Warsaw, Poland (1968-1975), and at the University Hospital of Tripoli, Libya (1975-1990). She is currently Senior Expert Nurse of the Operating Theatre at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan, Italy (1994 –).  Since 2010 she has also covered the role of Nurse Coordinator for the School of Robotic Surgery/IEO EDUCATION.

Dr Lichosik’s educational achievements include Equivalence Italian Diploma Ministry of Health-Rome, Italy, 1994, Registration at the professional register IPASVI College IPASVI Milan, 1994, Italian equivalence of the university Diploma Faculty of Psychology and pedagogy and Catholic University of Sacred Heart-Milan, Italy, 1996

Professionally she has been involved in many aspects of nursing research and teaching. She was the Italian National Consultant of Oncology Nurses Today (1998-2002). Dr Lichosik has been a member of the European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS) (since 1984),  Nursing College IPASVI/ Milano-Lodi, Monza & Brianza (from 1994), International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC) (from 2000),  EuropeanAsianSociety for breast disease EURAMA (from 2012), Polish Society of Robotic Surgery (from 2011) and Society of European Robotic Gynaecological Surgery SERGS (from 2017)

She was also a Board member of the Association Nurses of Oncology Assistance AIAO/AIIAO (from 2003-2016) and is an advisor to the Italian Association of Oncology nurses since 2012. She is also a member of the National Consultant for EONS.
