Surgical management in Breast Cancer
This module focuses on the surgical management of breast cancer considering surgical indications, treatment options and possible complications.
This e-learning course covers best practices in breast cancer surgery. Experts from across the UK have contributed to ensure this course meets the educational needs of post-graduate surgical trainees looking to extend their knowledge on surgery in breast cancer. Developed in partnership between ecancer and Health Education South West to form an educational partnership called ePOSSOM.

Target audience
This course was developed to support the professional development of post-graduate surgical trainees.
Learning objectives
By the end of this module, you should be able to:
- List the indications and factors to consider for primary surgery in breast cancer.
- Identify the various surgical options for the breast itself.
- Identify the options for surgical management of the axilla.
- Explain and recognise the complications of breast surgery.
- Understand post-op management.
