Prof Lúcio Lara Santos - Instituto Português De Oncologia, Lison, Portugal

Prof Santos speaks with ecancer at AORTIC 2017 to discuss barriers to cancer care in Portuguese speaking African countries.

He describes how training is delivered in the PALOP group to provide professional education, practice training and deliver education to all grades of staff involved in cancer care delivered through multi-professional and interdisciplinary approaches.

Prof Santos highlights the development of contextualised guidelines to care and funding applications, as well as co-ordinated publishing for disease-specific care.

This has culminated in developing The PALOP School of Oncology, which Prof Santos hopes to see developed as a resource hub.
