Dr Julie Rani Nangia - Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, USA

Dr Nangia speaks with ecancertv at SABCS 2016 about a cooling cap system which can prevent hair loss for women undergoing chemotherapy.

She describes the rates of hair retention, noting that thinning is still likely even in patients who retain their hair, and highlights the safety for using the system in treating breast cancer compared to haematological disease, in which vasoconstriction might increase scalp metastases due to circulating tumour cells.
