Prof Pedro Romero - Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, Lausanne, Switzerland

At the 1st Immunotherapy of Cancer Conference ( ITOC ) at a sponsored symposium supported by BMS Professor Romero describes how tumours can evade the immune system and thereby survive and proliferate.

Professor Romero provides an overview of the relevant cell types and complex signalling pathways involved in this evasion.

He then goes on to discuss that there are numerous potential strategies to overcome tumour immune evasion mechanisms which could potentially provide long-term survival benefit for patients.
