Benefits of the EMCC congress for young oncologists

This Stockholm Cancer Congress is extremely important for young people also to become inspired for doing and participating in cancer research. I think it’s a great platform to get to know other leaders or leaders in their field. I myself, as a young oncology researcher, I’ve been busy with breast cancer research and I really enjoy meeting new people and being able to talk to the professionals in the field at this conference. It’s an informal way to get to know people.

I’ve visited a lot of the breast cancer sessions, obviously, because of my interest in breast cancer. What I like especially is the fact that young people get a chance to present their research, both in oral presentations and on posters. I think that’s really given us the opportunity to mingle with the leaders.
You get to collaborate, you find new ways of collaborating with each other.

I would encourage all young oncologists to come and visit this, the biggest European cancer conference because it is extremely multidisciplinary. Like I said, as a young oncologist you have the chance to get up there and present your research and enjoy the allure of presenting your work and getting some feedback from other people. It’s great.
