About ecancer

"To make major reductions in premature deaths from cancer, innovative education, and training opportunities for healthcare workers in all disciplines of cancer control need to improve significantly, particularly in lower-middle-income countries"  World Cancer Declaration

If we stopped research entirely and never spent another dime on finding new cures, we could still save thousands of lives by doing one thing – breaking down barriers and sharing the knowledge that already exists.

Sharing knowledge, improving patient care

The ecancer Global Foundation's mission is to raise the standards of care for cancer patients the world over.

To do this we provide the healthcare community with a vast online library of free educational resources covering every disease type, available at ecancer.org.

ecancer.org is a completely free online knowledge bank incorporating an open-access journal, news, video, and e-learning (in both English and Spanish).  We also run medical education events all over the world, helping to connect the healthcare community to practice changing knowledge.

All of our resources have been developed in partnership with leading global experts to meet international/regional educational needs.

You can learn more about ecancer's story here.

ecancer's story

ecancer.org was founded in 2007 by two inspirational oncologists, Prof Gordon McVie, and Prof Umberto Veronesi, who shared a mission to optimise patient care and outcomes by improving cancer communication and education. Their vision was a free online platform where new discoveries could be shared, which came to life as ecancer.org.

The charity was started thanks to seed funding from the ECMS foundation, an independent, not-for-profit organisation with charitable status with donations from the Fondazione Umberto Veronesi, Fondazione, the European Institute of Oncology (IEO), the European CanCer Organisation (ECCO) and Swiss Bridge.

ecancer continues to be funded through educational grants, sponsorship, government funding, and charitable donations.

Support ecancer's mission to improve worldwide cancer care

As a charity, we rely on donations to fund our work. We kindly ask every ecancer supporter to consider making a donation to the ecancer Global Foundation. Together we can get better outcomes for patients by tackling global inequalities in access to the results of cancer research.

You can donate directly via paypal or if you would like to talk to us first you can email team@ecancer.org or call 44 (0)117 909 4608.
