Workshop on "Tissue-based Biomarkers for Advancement of Personalized Cancer Treatment"

The workshop in Graz "Tissue-based Biomarkers for Advancement of Personalized Cancer Treatment", to be held on 28th - 29th March, is meant to address the very debated problem of the correct use of retrospective clinical studies.

The aim is to develop a concept how archived tissue material can be better used for research, development and validation of biomarkers. Therefore, harmonized standards and procedures need to be established and opportunities for funding explored.

The workshop brings together the key stakeholders from pathology and biomedical research, cancer organizations, patient advocacy groups, and industry.

Expected outcomes is a summary of key aspects and points of view in a white paper for the European science policy.
