Jason Carroll

Jason Carroll is a senior group leader at Cancer Research UK and the department of Oncology, University of Cambridge. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Melbourne and his PhD at the University of New South Wales and the Garvan Institute in Sydney, focusing on antiestrogen action and the role of the cell cycle. His postdoctoral work was conducted at the Dana-Farber Cancer institute, Harvard Medical School, Boston, where he developed approaches for genome-wide mapping of transcription factor binding events. He joined Cancer Research UK, Cambridge, in 2006 and his lab is interested in understanding mechanisms of Estrogen Receptor transcription in breast cancer, with a particular emphasis on endocrine resistance and genomic approaches for defining transcriptional complexes. He has co-authored more than 40 peer reviewed papers and is the recipient of several awards and grants.
