We have five social workers, medical social workers, in our team and after admission of a patient we are conducting a psychosocial assessment of the patient. The main objective of psychosocial assessment is to make an assessment of the patient, the patient’s fear inside, worries, hopes and assess the tailored intervention.

How do you maintain your education?

For the team for the grooming of knowledge to upgrade their skills. So we are conducting the team participating in case presentations – mortality, around dying, journal clubs - discussions like this.

What do you think the future of your team will be?

The Cipla Palliative Care Centre is following the norms of the family care model. So to give the best service to the patient, this is our role; to upgrade the skills of medical social workers at that level; to serve the best quality patient care in the palliative care for the cancer patients.
