Prof Palumbo discusses the two papers he presented at ASH. The first, bortezomib, melphalan, prednisone and thalidomide followed by maintenance with bortezomib and thalidomide for initial treatment of elderly multiple myeloma patients. The second, a Phase III study to determine the eficacy and safety of lenalidomide in combination with melphalan and prednisone in elderly patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma.
