Dr Veronica Wendy Setiawan - University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA

Dr Setiawan talks to ecancertv at the AACR conference about her work which looks at the relationship between cancer and coffee intake, with a particular focus on cancer of the liver. Her research suggests that coffee may prevent certain cancers, and she especially advises those at high risk of liver cancer to drink coffee as a preventative measure.

Interestingly, other caffeinated drinks did not have the same affect but neither did decaffeinated coffee, although a lot more research needs to be done before the potency of decaffeinated coffee, or the lack thereof, can be confirmed.
