Dr Lorraine Lipscombe – University of Toronto, Canada

Dr Lipscombe talks to ecancertv at ASCO 2011 about patients who have type 2 diabetes having many more cancers, e.g. liver, pancreas, breast and colorectal. This may be due to high blood glucose levels, or high insulin levels. Metformin is used as first line therapy for patients with diabetes, and has potential use as preventative medication.
