Dr Andreas Penk - President, European Pfizer Oncology Business Unit

Managing Editor Prof Gordon McVie (European Institute of Oncology and ecancer) talks to the President of Pfizer's European business unit about Public private partnerships at the 2011 National Cancer Institute Directors meeting in Lyon, 17th May 2011.

Dr Penk calls for a new era in personalised medicine; oncogene-driven cancer care. For example sharing molecular information about cancers between institutes in France and ensuring new processes are brought to the clinic as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Careful structure is required across whole care delivery to improve patient outcomes. He also discusses a collaboration between Cancer Research UK and the NHS to raise the level of personalised care, and molecular information being pooled.
